Derek Brown

Producer

Derek Brown attended Appalachian State University studying Electronic Media Broadcasting and Graphic Design. After working in Los Angeles for the Academy Award winning production company, Voltage Pictures, Derek settled down in Fort Worth, TX in 2012.

He’s currently Vice President for Red Entertainment in Los Angeles, CA where he produces and oversees all film and television development. Derek was an associate producer on the aforementioned BALLS OUT. He also served as co-producer on ONE PERCENT MORE HUMID and A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG. Currently, he’s a producer on SLEEPING IN PLASTIC. Along with Red, Derek is developing several projects, including a TV series based on James Johnston’s award-winning short film, MELVILLE, feature films THE KING OF NORTH DAKOTA and FORSAKEN, both expected to begin production this year, and a biopic based on the life of Navy Lt. and Paralympic Gold Medal swimmer, Bradley Snyder.
