Synopsis

SLEEPING IN PLASTIC is a southern gothic tale that explores the malevolent behaviors of people caught in the maelstrom of murder and sexual deviancy. The story begins when a sheriff and his deputy stand over a dead body hit by a car. As they stare perplexed at the naked corpse, the scene fades to present day where a series of seemingly unrelated events unfolds in this small Texas town. Three neighborhood kids come across a dying dog on the street. A prostitute steals from a Cowboy and sneaks out a motel room. Brandon Bell, a high school senior, breaks his arm during a wrestling meet – while earlier that day, a freshman wrestler catches the coach being sexually inappropriate in the locker room.

However, lives begin to intersect and unravel in surprising ways once Brandon encounters a drifter named Pearla and her psychotic lover Oz Bacco. As Brandon’s relationship with Pearla intensifies, so does Oz’s propensity for violence and mayhem. When Brandon agrees to drive Pearla to a friend’s house, things turn for the worst as she unintentionally draws him into murderous events surrounding the contents of a stolen black bag. Lured by money and the curiosity of an unfamiliar world, Brandon finds himself directly in Oz’s menacing path.

As secrets and nightmares begin to surface, so do more dead bodies. In the end, Brandon fights desperately to escape the grips of demented predators that lurk in his small town.
